Surf camp, Nicaragua – Everything You Need to Know
For every surf enthusiast, our primary needs are a surf destination that offers: a versatile selection of waves, fewer crowds, lush, green jungle, pristine beaches, abundant wildlife, friendly locals, budget-friendly prices, nice accommodation and great food. Well, say Hola to Nicaragua!
Consistent waves year round, stunningly enthralling flora & fauna, and fewer crowds in comparison to many more trendy destinations, Nicaragua is hard to beat when it comes to surfing destinations in the entire Central America region.
“The land of lakes and volcanoes” gained its prominence as a surfing destination quite recently. Despite its rich coastal topography, the country’s surf locations remained unnoticed for a long time – mainly due to the civil war. However, the growth in tourism in the beginning of the 21st century and consistently perfect waves have attracted national and international surfers from across the world!
Real Surf Trips welcomes you to one of the newest surf destinations: Nicaragua. We are all about the effort to results ratio and have assembled a surf vacation that will surprise and amaze you and your crew – waves, accommodation, food, transportation and everything else is provided. Relax, have fun, go rip and leave the details to us.
Our ground staff at RST Nica is second to none. The team is made up of native, bilingual local surf champions and their families of boat captains and fishermen spanning generations. They have the best knowledge of the waves and the beautiful area and culture that surround it. Our camp is completely equipped to host you and your crew and we offer a class-apart surfing experience that will stoke out each and every member you are visiting with.
Our location sits directly on a spectacular beach, overlooking perfect peaks. Enjoy cold drinks while watching the surf, kick it in an oceanside hammock, and take a stroll on a coastline that is simply breathtaking. We strive to make your experience the best, both surfing and on land, so that every visit seems like a first!

Where to eat?
We welcome you to a great new world of gastronomy where everything served up is nutritious and delicious. Our creative chefs have developed a Tropical Fusion menu that you and your crew will love.
While a typical day starts with coffee, fruit, and light snacks, followed by a big breakfast, a tasty lunch, and lastly a delectable dinner, the routine can be customized as per your diet and taste buds. Enjoy homemade dishes made of fresh local ingredients, meats and seafoods, as well as high protein vegetarian/vegan options.
Smoothies and fresh juices are always available to replenish your vitamins after every tiresome surfing session.
Nothing like a couple cold ones after a satisfying day of surf. The most popular local cerveza is called Toña, it is a tasty pilsener style lager served ice cold. Flor de Caña is the local rum, and is recognized worldwide as one of the best.
When to go?
We are blessed with good surf all year long here at RST Nica.
For beginners and intermediate surfers there are ideal waves here most every day of the year! Learn at the main spots when it’s small and enjoy the sheltered setups when the swell builds.
For advanced and expert surfers, the months between March and November are filled with solid, consistent S and SW swells. You will love the variety of rights, lefts, beach breaks, reefs and points, all assembled on a remarkably small stretch of coastline.
Note: From Dec-Feb, water is coldest and wind is strongest, and Oct and November are usually the rainiest months.

Surf spots and Surf locations
The variety and quality of over a dozen surf spots on this blessed stretch of coastline is incredible. Most every morning provides glassy conditions or light offshore wind, so it is worth it to get up early. We don’t provide surf maps or name specific spots and beaches in our marketing and social media, as they still are peaceful and fairly uncrowded, some are still empty secret spots! The amazing photos display all you need to know and the mix of epic waves and good vibes may make this your surf trip best ever, which like many of our happy visitors, you will want to repeat every year.
