Here are a few ideas:
• Lounge on pristine beaches and ride plentiful waves.
• Take a hike up a volcano and soak in a geothermal spring.
• Spy on magnificent birds, iguanas and monkeys all while getting lost in beautiful forest of trees.
This is Costa Rica. Our northwestern corner of Costa Rica in the Guanacaste province packs all this in and more.
One of the major highlights of northwestern Costa Rica is the Nicoya Peninsula, a wide, mostly flat region with dry tropical forest where savanna vistas are only broken by windblown trees. This is where you’ll find some of the best waves in the country with miles of coastline to explore.
Further east, the Cordillera de Guanacaste sits majestically on the plains of a line of sputtering, steaming volcanic peaks that are begging for to be discovered.
Further south comes higher altitudes that create an enchanting temple of clouds, teeming with life.
That is what makes Costa Rica and is reason enough to come and explore.
One of the best times to visit Costa Rica, especially for families, is between November and April. While in the Northern Hemisphere this is a time of cold weather, Costa Rica is entering Summer. Although this time of year is often Costa Rica’s busiest (mostly during the holiday seasons), there are a plethora of things to do in our local area and because of the good weather, you won’t be stopped by the tropical rain!
An ideal time to come is in February when you can soak up the sun, but not be too crowded out by tourists. April is also a good month to vacation in Costa Rica. It is the end of our dry season, the start of the Costa Rica surf season and although you can still have fun at the beach during the day, the afternoon will bring cool breezes that will entice visitors for hikes, walks on the beach, and forest exploration.
This is what makes Costa Rica the best place to visit on your next vacation. Come and enjoy everything our beautiful location has to offer.
